ELINA BETTINELLI CARRION

November 25, 2008 Leave A Condolence

In Memorial

After a courageous fight with cancer, Elina Bettinelli de Carrion, 74, beloved mother and grandmother and great friend to many, peacefully passed away in presence of her children. She left behind her friend and former husband, Dr. Carlos Alfredo Carrion, three children who loved and admired her dearly, Danny Carrion, Patty Ragsdale, and Alex Stark, the spouses Judy, Robert, and Rick, her grandchildren, Matthew, Caitlin, Andrea, Alexander, Nicholas, Elina. Elina was born on October 23, 1934 to Juan Carlos and Elina Bettinelli in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She graduated with the doctor of philosophy from the University of Buenos Aires. Throughout her life, she pursued her love of learning and teaching. She studied Art at the University of West Virginia and studied Linguistics at the Arizona State University. She taught many students of her love of her language. Our mother was known for being life of party; who loved to cook, was always laughing and having fun celebrating life. Her love for music and dancing. She will be remembered as a teacher, and an artist, who loved music. A blast to be around teacher. We would like to thank the people at St Joseph at Tower 6 and Neuro 5th floor, all doctors and staff treated our mother with such great dignity and respect. We will be forever grateful. Her last days were peaceful. We would also like to thank the Gardner House of the Hospice of the Valley for making our mother’s last days so peaceful. She knew how to live well, laugh often and love much. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 28, 2008, at Saint Francis Xavier Church, 4715 North Central Avenue. In lieu of flowers, we would like donations made to the Breast Cancer Foundation of Arizona, 3330 East Second Street, Phoenix, 85012 and the Hospice of the Valley, 1510 North Flower Street, Phoenix, 85014. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.
