Elizabeth Clare Betty Bleier of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the age of 58. Elizabeth, “Betty” to all her family and friends, joyfully resides with the Lord. Betty’s spirit is free from her ill, weakened body and her beautiful soul now walks with the angels in heaven. We take solace, but shall miss her endless enthusiasm, giving guidance, and her genuine love of life! Betty was a truly kind person; what a privilege and blessing to have known one of God’s special human gifts. As Betty’s earthly journey nears completion, may she be surrounded by peace, light, and love as she embarks on her eternal spiritual journey. Born September 16, 1949 in Glendale, California, Betty was preceded in death by her father, Edward and her brother Michael. Betty is survived by her mother Ella Mae Bleier, sister Patty Aker Tom, brothers: Bill Bleier, Paul Bleier; nephews: Rodney Medrano, Eric Bleier; niece Sheila Bleier. Great niece and nephew: Shelby Medrano, and Jake Medrano. Betty was Dillard’s Box Office manager until early retirement in 2000. She was a dedicated Catholic; very active at St. Thomas the Apostle Church as a past Sodalist and Parish Council President. Betty is greatly loved by her family and many friends. She will be dearly missed. Visitation/Celebration of Life @ 5 p.m. Scripture/Rosary @ 7 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2008 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home at 4800 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix AZ. A funeral mass for Betty will be held Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 2312 E. Campbell Ave, Phoenix AZ, with graveside services immediately following at St. Francis Cemetery, 48th St. and Oak, Phoenix AZ. The family asks that donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Chapter, c/o St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2312 E. Campbell Ave, Phoenix AZ 85016.
