Roxanne (Schmidt) Fields, 65, passed away peacefully at her home in Phoenix, Arizona, on October 4, 2022.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Roxanne settled in the desert in the early 80s. She was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, an excellent creator of homemade pies, an avid reader of books, and a giver of truths whether you wanted them or not.
Roxanne raised two children, Brittany (Mark) Burchard and Ryan Clarkson, and doted on her grandchildren, Luke and Logan. She wasn’t one to turn down a margarita, a trip to a Diamondbacks game, or a visit up north with her sisters, Robin Schmidt and Dori Juleff. She loved hosting birthday parties, holiday dinners, or summer BBQs, and her nieces, nephews, and family friends always knew they were welcome in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Margaret Schmidt, and her older sister Kathy Antkoviak. We can only assume she is currently organizing a Euchre game with them, using her own house rules, while snacking on sour cream and onion chips.
A Memorial Service will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E Indian School Road, Phoenix on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 1:00pm. Please do not feel like you need to wear black, Roxanne preferred wearing her favorite items, regardless of the color.

I’m sad but I am blessed to say Im grateful in knowing Roxanne, she and her daughter Brittany who was 5 when I met them at a lake in Michigan along with my ferret Nivek, Rox turned and said “WTF is that thing, looks like a drowned rat, it’s nice to meet you! From that second on I adored her. Thank you for some sweet funny memories. May you’re beautiful wings forever protect your family.

Roxanne you were such a great help to me in my journey of Tax Credit. You never complained of my mistake and the so many phone calls from asking for help. You never turned me away and if you did not have time you would call me back when you had it. It was a great joy getting to know you and work with you.

This all just seems so surreal. Roxanne can’t possibly be gone from us so soon. After working together for over 20 years she became my rock and one of my very best friends. I can’t truly express just how much I will miss her wonderful sense of humor and her bone-deep kindness. She was a wonderful person.
