Kristie Marie Flynn beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, and fiancé passed on October 24, 2021, after enduring a long & courageous battle with breast cancer at the age of 36. Kristie was born in Massena, New York on November 15, 1984.
Most of her high school years were spent at Windsor High School, in Windsor New York. In June 2000, her family relocated to Sahuarita Arizona, where she graduated from Sahuarita High in 2002. Kristie continued her education at Arizona State University and in 2007 completed her bachelor’s in Psychology, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Richard & Odena Flynn and her beloved chihuahua Pablo.
She is survived by her father Paul Flynn, stepmother Evangelina Flynn and Mother Karla Flynn; her fiancé Gena Parker, sister Ashley Flynn, Javier Contreras (brother-in-law), niece Whitney, nephew Brody and grandparents Richard and Jeannette Shinnock. In addition, she had numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She leaves behind her four dogs Phineas, Hurley, Carlos, and Santana (her children).
Kristie was employed at BD (Becton Dickinson) in Quality Document Systems Management as a Change Analyst II. Kristie was a very strong, loving, and caring individual. She was also extremely intelligent, and quick-witted to all who knew her. Everyone who was around her felt her magnetic energy and wanted to be part of it. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and fur babies. We will always treasure the all too brief time we had with her. May your playful soul shine on. Abraham Lincoln once said, “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”
When you think of Kristie, celebrate the fond memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
The memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road in Phoenix, on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with memories being shared starting at 7:00 P.M. In addition, a Facebook live event will start at 6:30 PM with access to the event at https://www.facebook.com/WhitneyMurphyFH/live/
Donations in Kristie’s honor may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the Tegan and Sara Foundation.

I grew up with Kristie and often think of all of the fun we had at her home in Kirkwood. Kristie was an amazing friend, and a shining light in everyone’s lives that she touched! I spent birthday parties with her, many sleepovers, sports, etc. and still to this day even remember songs she introduced me to and immediately think of her when I hear them on the radio. Kristie was super funny, smart, and an incredible person and she will shine on forever! Sending her family and friends tons of love and prayers!

I worked with Kristie at Streets of New York, we didn’t really hang out outside of work that often but we did work together every day and we got to know each other quite a bit. Although a decade may be removed from the last time I spoke to her I can still hear her voice in my head, her laugh. Always cracking jokes…
She made us all better people, and I can’t believe she’s gone…
Deepest condolences to the family.

Knowing Kristie was like knowing sunshine. She was the best person and her light showed bright. My condolences to the Flynn family and Gena.

Kristie’s family,
No words can begin to express the sorrow I and our work family feels. Kristy was a beloved team member who always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She came to BD in the Document Control department to do a scanning job. She took on what is the most boring job in the world (can you imagine scanning documents ALL day) and did it with a smile. That excellent work ethic and attitude gained her full-time employment as a Change Analyst. She said she wanted to learn everything she could and we threw a lot at her. Even during her illness she remained positive and continued to shine. I am thankful I got to know her.

You are in our thoughts and prayers. Although I didn’t know Kristie personally, I have been, and continue to be, inspired by the many stories shared over the years of her strength, positive attitude, persistence, and verve. She was a model of how to embrace life and was well loved.

My thoughts, prayers and love to all of you. Words can’t begin to describe to how much Kristie meant to me, not only as a co-worker but also as a friend.
As my co-worker I could count on her to handle anything I threw at her at work, and I could count on her to always make me smile and laugh as a friend.
The way she tackled everything just amazed me. She never lost that shine, even as she battled through this horrible disease. She will be deeply missed

I never intended to make friends when I began taking my dog Zelda to the Indian Steele dog park. Actually, I intended to not make any friends. I didn’t want to be a ‘dog park’ person. But Kristie and Gena made that tough, if not impossible. Kristie was always so sweet and welcoming. Over time, in my mind she switched from being one of my ‘dog park friends’ to simply being ‘my friend’. I enjoyed our long walks through the park and hanging at the tables with Zelda and Hurley Kristie always had the biggest smile and it would brighten up park especially when the city couldn’t keep the lights on. Kristie was a wonderful friend and is dearly missed.

So sorry for the loss of Kristie. She was such a charismatic and fun loving person. She and Gena became friends with me through our dog Instagram accounts. Kristie initiated a gift exchange for the dogs and from there a friendship was born. I’m sad I never got to meet her in person. May she Rest In Peace.
Eliza L.
Kristie,
I am so grateful to have had you in my life. I never thought I’d meet such cool people at the dog park. You definitely had a knack for making me laugh and I’ll never forget the time you pretended to be Gena in a text conversation. You really had me going for a bit there! You encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and although I wanted to say this at your service tonight, expressing my feelings this way is easier.
My heart is broken not only because I lost a friend, but my heart breaks for your family, friends and especially for Gena. Don’t worry, though, your friends will help her through.
I send my most heartfelt condolences to your family and to Gena.
We love you and we will miss you…Until we meet again.
Love,
Eliza & Dexter

Wow I’m in shock. I worked with Kristie years ago at a call center. She was so smart, funny and definitely a bright spot at a job where the customers were dark. I remember going bowling with her the night before she had to drive home to spend holidays with her family.. it will always be the most fun I’ve ever had. She even laughed when I gave her a 2nd place ribbon I had got before we went. Condolences to her friends and family.. RIP Kristie

Our family…. Tere, our furbabies, Schmuffy, Pepper, Lollipop and myself knew Kristie through our Instagram Furmily. We had so much to chat about when it came to our dogs… she made me laugh a lot and we love how she put her babies before anything. I’m sure she is sitting in that field under the big tree over Rainbow Bridge having the best time with all the dogs she could possibly imagine! We miss you and we send our love to you Gena and babies..

Paul,
There are simply no words …
I’m hoping that as time passes, some of the happier times with your daughter will begin to bubble up … the silly times you shared as well as the proud-parent moments … & that some of these thoughts will push aside the deep sadness ….
My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.
