
passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Ana Maria, known as Anita to family and friends, was the oldest daughter of the late Manuel and Elvira Anton. Ana was an accomplished seamstress whose children and faith came first. Ana married the late Henry J. Forner in 1947 and is the loving mother to eight children, all who graduated from St. Marks Elementary and St. Mary’s High School. Both Ana and Henry dedicated countless hours to St. Mark’s Catholic Church and School. Their children, all who survive her, are Victoria (James Chesnik), Jaime (Lupe), Veronica (David Gonzalez), Joseph, Leticia (Glenn Reathaford), Susana (Jim Shipka), Barbara (Frank Soqui) and Ana (Robert Holeman). Ana also leaves behind 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Ana was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers Alfredo and Rodolfo. Ana is survived by her brother Librado (Mercedes) and sister Bertha Banda. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017, 9:30am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 2121 S. Rural Road, Tempe. Burial immediately following the Mass at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arizona Humane Society in Mom’s name.
