Margaret Mary Frushon, 85, of Phoenix, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on May 11, 2023. She was born on February 21, 1938 to John and Eleanor Mazzanti in Plains, PA. Margaret married her beloved husband of 61 years Anthony “Tony” Frushon. Together they had two children Dawn Marie (Robert) Roeder and Anthony Jr.
They moved to Phoenix in 1986 where Margaret and her family moved their established interior decorating and manufacturing business. Margaret enjoyed 45 years as a self-employed interior designer and manufactured custom draperies and bedding for homes all over the Valley of the Sun.
Margaret adored her family and doted on her beautiful grandchildren. She enjoyed baking and cooking and carried on the tradition of her Italian born grandmother, who worked at a palace in Rome, of making homemade raviolis and meatballs every Christmas. She joyfully passed the tradition on to her daughter and granddaughters. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, the Virgin Islands, Hawaii and made a 4000 mile cross country road trip and back with her husband Tony to visit family throughout the country. She enjoyed rooting for her favorite sport teams, the Arizona Cardinals, Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns.
Margaret taught her children the Catholic Faith and is a Confraternity member of the Holy Rosary and Archconfraternity member of the Holy Face. She cherished praying every morning with her husband.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Mazzanti, Jr. and will be buried next to her beloved grandson Nathaniel Joseph. She is survived by her husband Tony, daughter Dawn Marie (Robert) Roeder, son Anthony Jr., granddaughters Carlie & Kateri Roeder, brother Frank (Alice) Mazzanti and sister Corrine (James) Gaughan.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 5:00-7:00PM with a Rosary at 6PM at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 11:00AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3801 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix. A lite reception will follow service in Santa Maria Hall. Burial will be at 2PM at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa.

It was a joy to know your mother and family. Watching how the family rallied around her during her last weeks on earth was heart felt. May y’all find peace from Jesus at this time and may her spirit live on within each of you. Peace and blessings.

Tony,Tony Jr, Dawn, Rob and family,. John and I are so sad to hear of our dear cousin Margie’s death. As a family we shared some wonderful memories, especially the family gatherings at Grandma and Grandpa’s house . John and I often talk about our many wonderful trips to visit you in Arizona, and especially your cross county trip so Marge can visit with all of us. We are so grateful to you Tony, for making this happen. Marge always had a special spot in our heart and will always be remembered with love.
