If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Helen then consider yourself lucky, for you were truly touched by an angel. Helen was the kindest person I ever met. You never heard an unkind word from her. I often wondered how she fit such an enormous heart in her tiny body,
Knowing Helen enriched my life, as well as many others. Rest in peace Helen, it was truly an honor to know you.

Thank you Helen, thank you George for my happy place during the time I lived in Phoenix. There was no exalted occasion in my young life than Rib Night at Ham’s. Second to that was any other time at Ham’s. Ten years or so ago, I detoured off the highway while driving through Phoenix only to find My Favorite Eating Establishment replaced by a fitness center under construction. O, the irony! Oh, the sorrow! But I’m grateful for the good times, good friends and great meals at Ham’s. I’m glad I took, and will always have a photo of the sign out front, circa 1982. Helen and George, you made a huge difference in many lives.

Oh Ma Furka-truly an angel on earth. The most loving, kind and best second Mom!! To know her love and kind spirit was a privilege and an honor. I have so many great memories–Hawaii being one of the best. I needed her love and reassurance (having my first baby) and she was so supportive. Then coming back to AZ we got to enjoy times at Hamm’s and her cooking!! The best! Ma, George and Bubba are together again!! I love you my Suzy and my heart hurts for you. I am here!
