
Manuel L. Garcia Jr., 79, passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Manuel was born March 25, 1938 in Phoenix, Arizona to Manuel Espinoza Garcia and Lucia Lopez. He attended Lowell Elementary School and graduated from Phoenix Union High School, enlisted and served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Cement Finishers Union. He married his beloved wife Linda Marie Medina on September 4, 1960 and is survived by his children; Tony, Teresa, and Joe. Manuel worked Street Maintenance for the City of Phoenix from 1968 – 1996, and was known by his colleagues for his tireless energy and dedication. He is predeceased by his parents and sister Terry. Manuel is further survived by his siblings; Carmen, Ernie, and Angie. He had 4 grand-children; Jennifer, Toni, Monique and Gabriel; and was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren with one on the way whom he loved very much. Manuel had a passion for his guitar and enjoyed singing for his family and friends. He always looked forward to special occasions and adored seeing the children as they grew. Visitation will be at 8:00 A.M., followed by the Rosary at 9:00 A.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., at St. Mark’s Parish located at 400 N. 30th St., Phoenix, on Friday, October 6th. Manuel will be laid to rest at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery at 2033 N. 48th St. Phoenix, AZ.
