86, Born September 1, 1925, passed May 31, 2012. A long time resident of Phoenix, AZ. Before retiring, Sam was a contractor and active in church activities. He was acting president for the Granite Reef Dance Group in Scottsdale, AZ. A veteran of World War II, he fought in Germany and France. He is a recipient of both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He has been entered into the World War II Registry of Remembrances in the National World War II Memorial. Sam is survived by his wife Nellouise A. Garcia, sons Jim and Kim, daughters Leslie Pau and Luwanna Webb, grandsons Samuel Phillips, Adam Hite, Justin Webb (preceded grandpa) Nicholas Webb, Khan Richardson, granddaughters Sarah Smith, Heather Lipko Hite, Mary Smith, and great-grand children Marlee Phillips, Summer Hite, Cierra Hite and Chance Hite. Visitation will be from 5-8pm, Tuesday, June 5 with a Rosary at 7pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30am, Wednesday, June 6 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Avenue. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix followed by a reception at Eddies House Restaurant, 7042 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.
