GARLAND, BRANDEN MARK

April 20, 2020 46 Condolences

Branden M. Garland

Branden Mark Garland
May 4, 1999 – April 16, 2020
Born in Phoenix, Arizona
Son of – Julie and Mark
Brother of – Christopher, Daphne, and Tessa

Branden Garland passed away the evening of April 16, 2020. He had been struggling with mental illness from a young age. The matter of his death does not change the events of his life. Branden had such an unbelievable work ethic. The past couple months he had been working with his father, while studying hard and taking classes at Paradise Valley Community College. So many words could be used to describe this beautiful young man. His beauty was a bright light to each person he encountered from the moment he was brought into this world to the moment he was taken from us. His genuine smile brought so much joy to his loved ones in a way no other could. His spirits will forever live in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his Grandfathers’ Mark Jones and Ron Hinman. He is survived by his Mother Julie Jones, Father Mark Garland, Grandmother’s Sharon Hinman, Helen Garland, and Sylvia Garland, his Grandfather Alan Garland, his siblings Christopher Power and his daughter Starla Power, Daphne Garland, and Tessa Garland, his aunts and uncles Jennie and Emiliano Torres (Ally, Mat, Noah), Susie and Stan Reineke (Morgan, Marcus, Meg), Shelley and Mike Harmon (Travis, Nolan), Misti Garland (Madison, Rikki), Frank and Wendy Martinez (Lucy, Abby), Andrew Martinez, lastly, his dear friend Florentina.

A private family service will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the home of Mark Garland.

On Saturday, April 25, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. an open house to pay respects to Branden’s family is being held at Mark Garland’s residence.  The dress code is casual. Prepare for 90-degree weather. We cannot guarantee any social distancing or that we can follow the under 10 rules for gatherings. However, please come if you feel comfortable and please stay home if you are not as we understand it is a difficult choice.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Branden Mark Garland’s honor to NAMI Valley of The Sun at https://www.nami.org/About-NAMI/Donate-to-NAMI. This is a mental health organization that we believe will help prevent other families from going through a tragedy like this.
For the next several months we have set up meal deliveries for both Julie Jones and Mark Garland.

We are SO very sad for your great loss! I remember first meeting Branden on Easter 2014. He impressed me with his polite respectful demeanor as he shook my hand to introduce himself. What a great kid! SO SAD that he lost sight of that. We choose to remember his smile and his tenderness towards Tessa. May your hearts remember the best about Branden as well.

Mark and Julie I am so truly sorry. I can’t imagine. Words fall short. I prayed with my family just now for you all – that God would sustain you as only He can through the intensity of the sorrow right now. You must miss him beyond what words can convey. You remembered him well in the obituary.

Your beautiful son’s death breaks my heart. I remember him from the times we had gatherings at Michael and Shelley’s home in Evergreen when Branden was visiting with your family. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. None of us can imagine your pain and sadness. He was a bright light. He rests in God’s arms this day but I know you’d rather have him resting in yours. His choice will hurt you deeply for a long, long time but healing will come. May you know the peace and hope of the resurrection today. I will continue to hold you in my prayers.

Our prayer is that each and every memory of Brandon is sweet to your mind and soul.

    April 21, 2020 at 11:10 am

Julie and Mark, I’m speechless and heartbroken. This little Italian mama can’t take it.
For today , I will light a 7 day candle for this week of guided peace. For tomorrow: Brandon is at peace, it is you (we) who are suffering his loss. He is a happy guardian angel now . You will continue a relationship, I can promise you that by proof, it just can’t be a physical one anymore but it is a beautiful connection. He will be present, he will show himself, he will guide you.. It is amazing, it’s just not what we want. Deep grieving is important in a healthy way!! No matter how strong you are, do attend the available grieving options over this year. He would want you to take care of yourself, each other and his brothers and sisters. It is not what you lost, it is what you do have in him, and what you have here to be an important part of. Of course if I can do anything for you …I would! XO

Mark and Julie, we can’t imagine what you are going through right now. My wife and I have been praying for you guys and asking God to comfort you and give you strength to carry you through this difficult time. Losing a loved one is very difficult, but losing a child is beyond imagination. Know that you have many friends who love and care for you. We are amongst them and will help in any way you may need us to. Psalm 23:4 reads as follows “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me”. Look forward to seeing you this weekend.

    With all our love,

    Eli and Yvonne

    Julie,
Mel & I send our love and hope that you are feeling all of the love being sent to you. If your happy memories with Branden will hold you up, you only have to make a day at a time, someday’s just an hour at a time and there will be better days ahead. You are so strong, I pray that strength is going to help you through this.
Love to you and your family always.

Mark/Julie…Brandon had one of the happiest/go lucky spirits as a young child. I remember when him/Bronson and Davis played NYS basketball together…their laughing/smiling faces as they truly were having a great time being together.

Extremely sorry for your loss. Praying Gods comfort for the entire family during your grief.
