GOMEZ, IRENE
Irene passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 10, 2021 leaving behind her son Dominique, mother Inez, and 4 brothers Robert, David, Daniel and Charlie to join her father in heavenly bliss. The Gomez Family takes comfort knowing that her soul is content, and she is not in pain. Irene is and always will be a mother, daughter, sister, an aunt and a friend. These are just some simple descriptors of the many roles Irene Gomez played in her life. However, they fail to describe the innate beauty and youthful soul; that was Irene. Maybe it was her upbringing. Having 4 mischievous brothers to keep up with instilled unwavering grit, patience and the kind of loyalty one desires in this complex world we live. Irene had a full life but not without struggle. The only difference is, she handled her challenges with grace. She epitomizes woman empowerment and self-sufficiency in every way imaginable. From relationships to career and home life she never relied on anyone but herself to accomplish her goals. She loved hard but fought harder for a life in which she could call the shots, no one else. Perhaps her best and most cherished accomplishment was her son, Dominique. Irene loved her son unconditionally. Her life choices centered around her beloved son and she would say “I am so proud of him, he’s my joy in life.” If you were so lucky to know her, you might find yourself spilling your heart in deep conversation one minute and belly-laughing in the next. That was her range, that was Irene, and she was the heart and soul for those around her.
