
Americo “Mac” Paul Gouveia, 87, died April 13, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving children. Mac was born September 4, 1924 in Milford, MA. He lived in Portugal for many years before he moved to Arizona in 1951. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and in 1987 he was ordained a Deacon. He was an aerospace engineer, entrepreneur and the founder of American Turbo Systems. He was married to Carmela Julia Ferrucci Gouveia and had 7 children, Dr. Joseph Paul Gouveia, Lois Gouveia Hartman, John Paul Gouveia, Marianne Gouveia, James Paul Gouveia, Linda Susan Gouveia Ahearn, and Ann Marie Gouveia. He had 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was a gentle man with a sweet spirit who touched the lives of many across the world. He will be missed by all. A Visitation will be held Thursday, April 26th from 5-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Mass is Friday, April 27th at 10:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Avenue, Phoenix. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
