88, of Phoenix, passed away on July 23, 2017. Jim was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Joseph and Emma Grady. Jim proudly served as an officer in the US Navy during the Korean War. He is survived by his loving wife Jean of 61 years; sons Michael and Steve Grady; daughters Jenny McElroy, Mary Grady and Karen Grady; sister Betty Kennedy; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 28, 2017 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home. Interment to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, family prefers donations to either St. Thomas Academy, 949 Mendota Heights Road, Mendota Heights, MN 55120; St. Vincent de Paul Society, P.O. Box 13600, Phoenix, AZ 85002; or University of St. Thomas, P.O. Box 64947, St. Paul, MN 55164-0947.

    Wonderful man! Great sense of humor, and from what we hear, a terrific ski instructor well into his 70’s. We could not have had better neighbors than Jim and his fabulous wife. Our sincere condolences to the whole family.
