GREVAS, NITA “BABE”

March 10, 2018 2 Condolences

Nita Grevas 2

Nita “Babe” Grevas passed away on March 3, 2018. Babe was born on June 6, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to Odyseas and Efstathia Sabos. They, along with her loving husband George, and her sister, Sophie Natsis, have all pre-deceased Nita. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Gail, her brother, James Sabos and her beloved cat, Koukla. Babe and George were married August 27, 1950. They moved to St Louis, and then to Tulsa, before settling in Scottsdale. Nita worked for 28 years at Good Samaritan Hospital as a Medical Transcriptionist and Supervisor. For many years she and George were very active at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral and developed many close friendships. Everyone she met was charmed by her warm smile and loving disposition. Nita would light-up at the mention of playing BINGO which was her favorite pastime. Together, “Babe” and George also enjoyed visiting many of the Casinos. Their devotion to each other lasted for 66 wonderful years. Beautiful memories!

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that donations be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Trisagion and Funeral Services will be on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1973 E. Maryland Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85016. Interment will follow at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85260.

I’m just finding this out. I’m so incredibly saddened by this news. What an amazing and kind lady. I have so many fond memories of Nita. R.I.P. my friend. I love and miss seeing you. I’m sure you and George are playing Bingo and having delicious pastries in heaven. Jen and Alex Boyle

Nita has had such a positive impact on my life and to call her “boss” always seemed silly because she was so kind and warm, and we were all happy to step up with the high quality and production she expected of us. What a sad day when we were outsourced. I happened upon the sad news of her passing and I’m sure I must’ve felt the Earth shift a bit that day, but I smile thinking of her with George and Whitney❤️
