Redden and his wife Florence (Davis). The Redden family is one of the original pioneer families who helped to establish the Kyrene/Tempe area. Orphaned at the age of 15, Alta and her sister Margie were raised by their sister, Juna McCreary. Alta graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital in 1935 with a degree in nursing. She is preceeded in death by her six siblings and her beloved husband William Roger Hafford whom she was married to for 55 wonderful years. Although she had no children, Alta will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She will be remembered as an avid reader (Zane Grey/Louis La’mour), animal lover (her cats were known to live past 20) and was very seldom without a crossword puzzle. She also enjoyed action movies followed by dinner with friends and family. Her golfing exploits were often featured in the Arizona Republic newspaper. Alta was a kind and loving person who will be remembered for her quick smile, wit, generosity, her passion for the Ladybug Golf Classic, the Zoo Auxiliary, her collection of angels, gardening and chocolate.
