Please accept my condolences on the passing of Bernard Harkins. I’ve been asking around and looking for him at the YMCA since last September which is when he usually returned to Arizona after spending time with his brother in Boston, I believe. Bernie was one of the nicest people ever; he was always thinking about the children making sure he had plenty of bubble gum for them. And he would spoil the ladies with chocolate brownies, mini muffins or cookies. It was only today, Monday, August 10, 2015 that I heard of his passing. He will always hold a special place in my heart and many others who met him through the YMCA. Please accept my belated condolences. arolyn Gong

Bernie was a kind and warm person that we loved in our neighborhood. I was thinking of Bernie, Betty and Mary and found this obituary. My condolences to Bernie’s family. A wonderful man.
