HAYNES, JAMES FREDERICK

October 21, 2022 Leave A Condolence

James Haynes

On October 17, 2022 James Frederick Haynes, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away at the age of 91 from natural causes. Fred, as he was known, is survived by his wife Rose Marie Haynes, his sons Jim, Tom, Ted, and John, daughter-in-law Cheryl, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Fred was born on March 26, 1931 in Quincy Massachusetts to Herbert E. Haynes and Anna May Gerrior Haynes. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bert Haynes, and his first wife Rosemary Ringel Haynes, mother of his children. While he was born in Quincy, Fred lived virtually his entire life in Phoenix where he moved for the first time in 1938. Before beginning his career, Fred joined the Air Force and served in Korea. Upon discharge he made a living as a CPA, working primarily as a tax accountant for banks. He loved history books and attending operas and movies. But his real passion was collecting arms and armor a hobby he carried on through his whole life, leaving behind quite a collection of helmets and swords.

A service for Fred will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. in the Mausoleum of St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street in Phoenix.

We are so very sorry for your loss of your sweet dad, grandpa and great grandpa. He was a wonderful husband to my Aunt Rosie and we always enjoyed being around him with his wit and wisdom. May he rest in peace and may God bless all of you with his tender love and care.
