In loving memory of Christine Hernandez, whom entered this world on July 24, 1935 and departed home on July 7, 2021. As a volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul, she supported the local food pantry for many years to help feed the needy. Devout to her faith and a parishioner to her church, she found the strength and fortitude to reach out to those less fortunate. Despite her age or health, Christine was still determined in her beliefs to help those find food and even gather backpacks for children. Along her long road, her heart has touched many along the way as did her will to help others.
Christine is survived by her brother Juan Marrujo and her sister Carmen Espinoza. She has also brought into this world children Olivia Quintero, Kathy Anderson, Tillie Hernandez-Rubio, Annette Hernandez-Martinez, Armando Hernandez and Alex Hernandez.
A Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 400 N. 30th Street, with internment at St. Francis Cemetery. Rosary can be viewed live on our Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/WhitneyMurphyFH/

Nana – There are very few who open their doors and heart the way you have demonstrated in your journey in life. You are the example of what it means to love our fellow man. Rest in peace until we meet again.

Alex,
Your mom was a wonderful person, so giving and loving to her community, and I know that you and your family have suffered a great loss. Her church , community and St. Vincent de Paul were blessed to have her working beside them to serve those in need. I remember so well how excited she was to tell me you were working for SVdP she was so proud to have you using your talents to further the work she cared deeply about. Please extend my condolences to the members of your family.
