Corine Reyes Hernandez

PHOENIX – Corine Reyes Hernandez passed away peacefully on October 6, 2021 at the age of 87. Corine was born in McNary, Arizona, raising her family in the Gila Valley in Safford, AZ area, and moving to Phoenix for the final four decades of her life.

Corine was happiest when taking care of others – first her family (Mother, Grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother), then through her employment with nursing centers and elementary schools.

Corine is preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Martinez, and daughter, Beatrice Hernandez, as well as grandsons, Joseph and Jacob Hernandez.

Corine is survived by her husband, Joe, and four children, Joe Jr.; Liz Steele (Laurel), Jeannie Saenz and Richard. She had eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Tommie Romero and Mary Sanchez and one brother, Arnold Reyes.

A Rosary will begin at 10:00 A.M. with a Mass celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 15, 2021 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1954 N. 24th Street, Phoenix. Burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
