In Memorial

Eddie was blessed to this world on September 16, 1932. He passed away peacefully on October 26th, 2018, at the grand age of 86. He was preceded in death by his daughter Rosa Lynn.  He is survived by his loving wife Cleo, of 59 years, and daughters Marcella and Molly. Eddie had 4 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.  He is also survived by sisters Molly Thorne, Dolly Jafek, Ori Jean Whalen and brother Tony Pena. Eddie was a first generation native of Phoenix, AZ. He was raised by his grandparents Antonio and Ementeria Encinas and grew up in downtown Phoenix on 9th St. and Monroe.
Eddie was a Veteran of the Korean War, as he served in the United States Army Infantry. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and United Nations Service Medal.
Eddie worked for the City of Phoenix for 35 years. Co-workers were forever warmed by Eddie’s smile, humor, generosity, and pristine appearance.
A smile for everyone, his wit and humor would surprise you and make you laugh. When asked, he stated he had no real hobbies but loved his cars (Did not drive them so well.), and his family.
Eddie was a quiet and humble man that kept a lot of his thoughts to himself but if ever someone was in need, Eddie would gratefully help. He was a kind and generous person to everyone he knew and met.
This world lost one of the good ones when our beloved Eddie went to be with his daughter Rosa on October 26th, 2018, and will be surely missed.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018, at 1:30 P.M., at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix.
