HINOJOSA, CELIA SINOHUI
Celia Sinohui Hinojosa was born on May 28, 1936 in the mining camp of Ruby, AZ, raised in Tucson, AZ, she later move to Phoenix, her home of the past 60 years. Matriarch of five generations, Celia blessed her family with love, laughter and passion for living. She was extremely proud to be descendant from the Otero family, first Spanish title holders to land in present-day Arizona. Preceded in death by her husband Fidencio Hinojosa and daughter Alma Diana Hinojosa, Celia is survived by her sister Velia Lopez, four children – Cricelia Hinojosa, Cristina Gerardo, Diana DeLugan, and son Joel Hinojosa; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Celia died of natural causes on May 26, 2013. Funeral Mass will be at 9:00am, Saturday, June 1st, 2013 at St. Mary’s Basilica, 231 N. 3rd Street, Phoenix, AZ. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
