
James G. Rule, 75, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, made his way to heaven on February 11, 2008. Jim was born in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, graduated from high school in Eagle, Colorado, graduated from Colorado A&M CSU in 1956, and moved to Arizona with his family in 1966. Jim was an engineer for Garrett, Air Research. After living in Arizona, Jim was re-assigned to Garrett in Houston, Texas. In 1976 returned to Arizona where he retired. James lived a wonderful, happy life with his wife of 55 years, Barbara, and his three children, James, Julie and Joni. Jim comes from a very large loving family and is survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jim was a kind, wonderful man who could fix anything and everything, “if it was broke he could fix it”. Jim was a great outdoorsman, with his motor home they would go hunting, fishing and travel all over the country. Due to his declining health the past four years, he never failed to enjoy his family, especially his grandchildren, Fox News, and his two Yorkies, Fred and Kris. He is preceded in death by his daughter Joni. He is survived by his wife Barbara, son James D. Lisa, daughter Julie R. Coulter Bill, his eight grandchildren Ryan Coulter Karen, Kim Rohr Bill, James Rule, Lindsay Lindner Geoff, Heather Rule, Ricky Brannon, Carrie Coulter, Danny Brannon, one great grandchild Preston Rohr, and seven step-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road with Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 15, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley and Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
