Rey David Javalera, 32, of Monte Vista Colorado, passed away on October 22, 2021, in Scottsdale, Arizona while at work.

Rey David was born on May 5, 1989, to Cosme and Olga Javalera. In the last couple of months Rey was a teacher to many. His passion for life guided him on a journey to help others become a better person. He loved God and made sure to let others know that God loved them. Rey had his ups and downs but in his own way he impacted and brought joy to those that were near and dear to him. Rey had the ability to change and influence any emotional environment he stepped into without difficulty. If anyone around him was angry, upset, or discouraged he found a way to bring light into the situation.

In recent months Rey was determined to change his life for the better. Rey maintained a positive attitude both in and out of his classes. Rey became a mentor client to other residents that looked up to him. After the completion of the program, he was personally asked by many to become their sponsor. In his recent accomplishments he attempted to sponsor multiple individuals but was limited to two due to other life responsibilities, including continued courses, work, family, and most importantly God. During this time, Rey David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and made sure he dedicated a significant amount of time to his newfound love. Rey David became a God-fearing man, determined to clean up the mistakes of his past to live a new and transformed life full of goals and dreams. His testimony will bring light to those in the recovery community.

Rey David is survived by his parents Cosme and Olga Javalera, his siblings Rocio Javalera, Cosme Javalera, Gilbert Javalera, Jessica De La Cruz, and Edgar Javalera, his nephews Jesus Adrian Gutierrez, Aiden Gutierrez, and Xander De La Cruz, his nieces Ashley Aguilera, Alejandra Javalera, Haile Javalera, Heidy Gutierrez, Audrey Javalera, Jaelyn De La Cruz, Kyleigh Javalera, his brother-in-law Yan De La Cruz, his sister-in-law’s Ivette Javalera, Liz Javalera, and Mariah Javalera.

“You are precious and honored in His sight”
