Ernest Jayme passed away June 10, 2019 in Phoenix. He was born March 27, 1934 in Tucson, AZ to Louis and Catherine Jayme. He moved to Phoenix in 1967.
Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Jayme, and stepson, Robert McDivitt, Jr.
He is survived by his daughter Cathy Bracy (Jimmy), granddaughter, Brooke, stepdaughter Wendy Powell and stepson Pete McDivitt, his sisters Arlene Jayme (George Maat) and Norma McCormick.
Ernest worked for Borden Foods for many years. He retired from Fiesta Canning, a division of Macayo’s Restaurants, in 2005.
He loved to camp, especially in Colorado. He spent most of his retirement golfing with his son-in-law and his friends and spending time with his family.
The apple of his eye was his granddaughter, Brooke, with whom he enjoyed getting into mischief with. They spent many days shopping, going out to lunch and just enjoying each other’s company.
Ernie was adored and loved by all of those who knew him. He was quick with a smile and made many friends while working in the food industry for 40+ years.
He will be greatly missed, especially by his immediate family. We love you, Papa!!
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E Campbell Avenue, Phoenix, with Burial following at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
