JOHN

John R. “Jack” Dolan, 85, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2009. Born in Orange, NJ on June 28, 1923, to Caroline and George T. Dolan. He was preceded in death by his brother, George. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marylore, brother Joseph and sons John, Jr. Kathy, Daniel, Laurence, Michael Nancy, Christopher Candace, daughter, Victoria Dolan Rudolph Robert and grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Emily, Kattie, Jack and Heather Dolan and Alexandra and Rogan Rudolph. He served in the Asian Pacific Theater in WWII. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, he moved to Phoenix and co-founded the firm of Gilbert and Dolan Enterprises, a multi-state construction and real estate company. The company proceeded to build many landmark schools and buildings here and in Los Angeles, CA. An avid golfer and sports fan, his devotion to his family was his first priority. He took time to serve as a Lay Member, Barrows Neurological Institute, Roosevelt Council of Boy Scouts, Past President, Notre Dame Club of Phoenix, Young Presidents’ Organization, Homebuilders Association of Central AZ, Scottsdale Board of Realtors and was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel. In later years, he formed J. R. Dolan, Inc. a consultant in land acquisition and infrastructure for housing projects. He was also co-owner of Embassy Properties, Property Management Co. Phoenix, AZ. The family wishes to extend our thanks and gratitude to Hospice of the Valley and to the C-1 staff of the Arizona State Veteran’s Home for all their patience and kindness. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am, Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cathol
