JOHNSON, AMELIA G.

January 20, 2021 Leave A Condolence

Amelia G Johnson 2

Amelia G Johnson (89), passed away on January 7, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Edward A Johnson at this death in 2017. Amelia was previously married and widowed at age 20 by Benny Duarte, a casualty of the Korean War. Amelia met Pvt. Eddie, at her 21st birthday party. They were married two days later. She was a native of Arizona and always said she could never imagine living anywhere else. Amelia was a member of the Bookbinders Union, she started working at 14 years old until her youngest child, Vincent, was born. Amelia loved her Yorkshire dogs and always had them around her.
Amelia was the 6th of 11 children born to Rafael Gomez and Delores R Gomez Mendoza. She will be welcomed to heaven by her parents and brothers and sisters, Rafael Gomez (Antonia-dec), Romuldo Gomez (Carmen-dec), Marta Navarro (Edmund-dec), Ricardo Gomez (Molly-dec), Christina Abril (Frank) and siblings who died when babies, Ruben and Olivia.
Her living siblings Hortensia Ortiz Valdivia (Leo Ortiz-dec and Daniel Valdivia-dec), Raul Gomez (Pricillia-dec) and Elda Islas (Filiberto) and all of her nephews and nieces and their families, who are too numerous to list, will miss her.
Amelia and Edward’s children, son, Edward P Johnson (dec), daughter Juli A Glascock (Bob) their children, David Glascock (Brenna Tonelli) great-grandchild Grayson; Christopher Glascock and Amy Malofy (Robyn) great-grandchild Penelope; and son, Vincent P Johnson (Heidi Klomhaus) their children Edward Johnson and Isabella Johnson, feel the void created, now that both Amelia and Edward are gone.
Services will be private, due to the ongoing emergency caused by Covid-19. A Memorial will be held at a later date. You can leave memories of mom at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, https://www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com.

To my dear cousins and their families my deepest condolences at this untimely death, so sudden but so many waiting to welcome her to our family on the other side.
She was so full of life and long memories I loved listening to her stories of long ago. I’m content in knowing she’s with my Mom & Dad and my Uncle Ed waiting to dance to some favorite tune. Love to all.
