Joseph Manuel Pacheco was born in Flagstaff, Arizona on April 12, 1921 to Manuel and Leandra Pacheco. He attended Phoenix Union High School. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in July 1942 to serve in World War II in the Burma India Campaign until October 1945. He joined the Phoenix Police Department in December 1947, Serial Number 109, and retired as an Assistant Chief in December 1978. After retiring from the Police Department he worked at The Arizona House of Representatives for 10 years. Joseph passed away on November 15, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Frances Pacheco. Joseph is survived by his 2 children, daughter Diane Pacheco and son Joe wife Cyndi Pacheco, 4 grandchildren, Joseph Arechavaleta, Jenni Pacheco, Traci Pacheco, and Nicole Pacheco, and great-grandson Nicolas Arechavaleta. He will be deeply missed by his family who greatly loved, respected, and honored him. Private family services have been held. We love and miss you Papa!
