Tammy Lynn Kastberg, the daughter of Marvin and Linda Kastberg, passed away on 17 May 2022. Tammy, who was caring, compassionate, and bigger than life, was born in Wisconsin and spent her early years in New Jersey until moving to Arizona, where she resided for 30 years. Tammy enjoyed the finer things in life but more often than not it was the little things that brought her the most joy. She enjoyed fresh cut flowers and listening to music — she always drove around the block until the song ended. Whether it was planning the next family gathering or a spontaneous trip with friends, Tammy was always finding the next thing to look forward to. For those who knew her, she never left the house without being perfectly accessorized, whether it be a baseball cap or her designer handbags. Tammy loved connecting with people; she knew everyone at her favorite local restaurants and exemplified servant leadership as a district manager for 20 years to over 50 employees who she adored.
Tammy is preceded in death by the love of her life, Cruiz, her toy poodle of nearly 15 years. Tammy has two siblings Randy Kastberg and Heather Schey and is survived by her daughter — the light of her life — Kaitlynn Wernsing.
Tammy’s services will be held at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, on June 11, 2022 from 10am to 1pm in the Aztec Room. She is forever loved and will be deeply missed by all. Condolences may be expressed at www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com

Tammy was a sophomore in the very first class that I taught at LTHS. I stayed for another thirty-three years because of students like Tammy. I have thought of her over the years. So very sad to learn of her passing. My sincere condolences to your family.

Totally Shocked!! Worked with Tammy a lot out West and in the Islands. Her favorite accessory was a smile, and she had a lot of them. 🙁

Tammy and I were very close at Berkeley in college. I still tell stories about how the two of us could go to a laundromat and have fun. She was full of life and hands-down the most fun person I’ve ever met in my life. I am very, very sorry to hear that she has passed. Blessings to her family. I am so sorry!!

So shocked to hear of this sad news. I worked with Tammy at Accessory Lady around 30 years ago. We had many good laughs. I got to babysit Kaitlynn one day and she was such a sweet baby and Tammy bought me a beautiful choker and earrings for the job which I still have. So sad by this news. My thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family and especially Kaitlynn.

I was in shock when I heard. I went to HS in Lacey with Tammy. I remember what a great smile she had and a BIG personality! I will always remember one thing about her…her sneeze!!! It was the loudest I have ever heard! At 7am in the morning in homeroom it would definitely wake anyone up! Seems like a weird thing to remember, but I hope mentioning it may have helped put a smile on your face, or a giggle on your lips. Tammy will be missed by all of her fellow classmates of 1987. Lions Forever. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Who knew when I bought your old house in Gilbert Tammy would become my best friend in my years there. We had so many fun times with cocktails and climbing on kitchen cabinets to mothers days by the pool! When my husband lost his job, Tammy put me to work at Perfumania for the holidays. Tammy was always real and honest and had the biggest heart. My heart goes out to all her friends and family. Miss and love you always. Rest peacefully, friend.

Hi Tammy,
I never had the opportunity to meet you, but I work with your daughter Kaitlynn. I initially met her in person about a year ago and it was after five minutes that I decided her and I would be lifelong friends. Kaitlynn’s drive, compassion, composure, and style are just a few things that drew me to her. From reading some of the other comments, it is clear to see how some of her characteristics can be attributed to you and the light you brought this world. Kaitlynn has shared a few stories of some of the incredible trips and experiences you two had together. I know she cherishes those moments and will look back on them fondly. Lastly, I want to thank you for raising such an incredible human being. I know my life is better with Kaitlynn in it and you should be eternally proud of all she has and will accomplish to make this world a better place.

My heart and deepest condolences goes out to the entire Kastberg family and her daughter Kaitlynn. I was a childhood friend and we had reconnected via social media over the last few years. I always remember Tammy as full of humor, style and class! She always kept it real. She had this confidence about her at a young age and I always thought that “this girl is going to be successful in life!”And that she was! I enjoyed seeing her travel all over the world- a career lady but most of all an extremely proud mama! She absolutely adored her daughter Kaitlyn and she always mentioned her with pride and joy! I’ll always remember back in high school- she led a group of us to ditch the school dance- and instead head out to Cherry Hill and celebrate at the Mexican Food factory! Rhett, Faith, and a few others- we had a blast but she showed us how to step out of the box and do something different! I remember that she had a rocking outfit on- dressed to the nines and I believe maybe hoop earrings! We had the best time. Funny, I live in that area and every time I drive by the restaurant- I think of Tammy….RIP Tammy. You will be missed by so many that you shined your light on.. G
