Leonidas Katrakis died peacefully of natural causes on Friday, February 11, 2022, at the age of 92. He was surrounded by his wife Fotini and sons by his bedside. He is preceded in death by his 7 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Fotini, son John and loved one Liz, and son Ted and wife Lori. He will be sorely missed by his grandsons, Michael, Alexander, Nicholas and Christopher.
After serving in the Greek military, he swept the love of his life, Fotini, off to America in 1965. Here, they built a life together, eventually opening a hair salon in their community. Leon loved gardening, reading, traveling, but most importantly, Greek dancing. He was never one to miss a gathering of friends and family, and break a few dishes dancing.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1973 E Maryland Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85016. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am., with services beginning at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the church at holytrinityphx.org.
