Joan M. Kelly, 91 years young…of Phoenix, Arizona, died peacefully on June 18, 2018. As her Son, Richard D. Kelly said: “There are billions of people in Heaven and Our Mother knows one-third of them.” She was loved, admired and adored by so many. Joan was blessed with 9 children, 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She certainly was the epitome of love, kindness and compassion for all of us! She lived out the true meaning of being Catholic; by seeing the good in everyone. In her famous words: “Keep a smile on your face and NO anger or hatred in your heart.” She will be missed. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. in the St. Ignatius Chapel at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix. A Memorial/Rosary will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers the family would ask for donations to be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014. Condolences may be expressed at www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com

Your sweet mom will always have a place in my heart. She was strong, forgiving, loving ADHD so many loved her. Count me among them. She’ll always be remembered for her gracious, giving spirit.

My heart and prayers are her family, she was such a wonderful lady and it was my pleasure and privelege to call her friend. I’ve know her for 15 plus years – her daughter Mary is one of my best friends and every time she visited Alabama we had so much fun. She will be missed but o know she has her wings. My prayers are with you!!!

Sweet sweet Joan. Words cannot express how I feel about Joan Kelly. Joan was always kind, overly considerate, and full of unconditional love. The time I spent with Joan in Montgomery was truly memorable and I will cherish those times until I see her again. I rest easy knowing Joan is with our Lord and I will see her again. To the family, your mother was an amazing woman who is deeply missed. To Paul and Elizabeth, she thought you two hung the moon and loved you deeply. I love sweet Joan Kelly and will think of her often. God Bless.

Pray for the Kelly family. She is in a better place. I have known the Kelly family since grade school (SVDP) and Ed and my Dad worked together at Goodyear Aerospace. Mrs Kelly, you were definitely loved. I know Mary thought the world of you. RIP. Michele and the whole Wilhelm Family.

I love you Grandma. I will miss bringing you newspapers when I visit and your laugh, and your sense of humor. I will miss watching you do cross stitches on your bed, and going on bus rides with you. I will miss all of these things, but will never forget them. You were a good, kind person and I know you are smiling down on us right now.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I too have felt the pain of losing some of those I love in death. I hope you are being surrounded by loving family and friends and taking care of yourself during this difficult time. The God of all comfort provides hope for those who have passed away and comfort for those who have survived. We are promised that our loved ones will return to us one day very soon. As Jesus resurrected his friend, Lazarus, and many others, you will see your loved one again. (John 5:28, 29) How the True God longs to do that! (Job 14:14, 15). Until then, may we continue to keep their memory warm in our hearts until we see them happy and healthy again one day very soon. Prayers and thoughts are with you . . .
