
Marion Edna Bacorn Kersting,
74, died Monday, February 22, 2010 of cancer at her home in Phoenix. Mrs. Kersting was born September 14, 1935 to Edna and Roscoe Bacorn in Somerville, New Jersey. She lived in Dunellen, NJ prior to moving to Phoenix in 1978. Mrs. Kersting was active in numerous youth and civic organizations including St. Andrew’s Sunday School and ECW, DHS Band Parents, PTA, Cub Scouts, Little League, Rotary Club, The Democratic Club and KAET PBS. Mrs. Kersting was predeceased by her sisters, Delores Reimann and Joan Gordon; brother, Roscoe (Butch) Bacorn; and son-in-law, Constante Agbannawag. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Alfred R. Kersting, Sr. and her children, Cheryl Agbannawag of Tucson; Alfred, Jr. (Della) of Mesa; and Lynda (William) Brinckerhoff of Tucson; and grandchildren, Antonia and C.J. Agbannawag and William and Alexander Brinckerhoff, all of Tucson; and dear friends, Jacques and Lisa Doherty Benaroch of Tewksbury, New Jersey. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 25th at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home at 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm, including a service officiated by The Rev. Sumith DeSilva at 7:00pm. A memorial service and the internment of cremains will be at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Tucson at a date to be announced. When Marianne told me of your loss I felt a piece of my heart was taken. Since moving to Phoenix you have always been in thoughts and prayers.
