KIDA, DOROTHY “DOTTIE”

KIDA,

Dorothy (Dottie) Kida passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the age of 87. She was born in Akron, Ohio on January 30, 1926 and married for 60 years to Anthony (Jack) Kida on April 11, 1953. Dottie was a loving wife and mother who was very devout in her Catholic faith. She was an unwavering volunteer from her youth for the church, continuing throughout her lifetime, carrying through to present day with The Christ Child Society, St. Theresa Parish, Mt. Claret Retreat Center and the Desert Nuns of Tonopah, Arizona. She brought comfort to family, friends and to all who met her. She is survived by her husband, Jack, four children, Jeff, Paul (spouse Lynn), Frances (spouse Stephan), Bernie (spouse Melba), and her four grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Kida, and Sydney and Holly Kida. She is also survived by her sisters, Ruth Walker, Rosemary Beckley, Alice Knipe and brother Joe Capra. A Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 6 – 8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Parish, 5045 E. Thomas Rd., Phoenix. In Lieu of flowers the family wishes to perpetuate Dottie’s caring service by making a donation in tribute to her to: Desert Nuns of Tonopah, http://desertnuns.com/contact-us or The Christ Child Society, http://www.christchildsocietyphoenix.org/donate.html.

    hello to jack and children, my heart is sad with the loss of my sweet sister dottie. we shared many hearfelt thoughts and understandings. it is hard to say goodbye but iam happy to know she is with family and her maker. may peace fill you hearts. I love you all.
