Sharon Elaine Kostyun, a Phoenix native, was born to John and Dorothy (Dixon) Maurin, Phoenix pioneer natives, on 11-13-1945 and passed away on December 15th, 2017 after a courageous and long battle with cancer. She married Frank Kostyun on April 4th of 1972 and they had three children, Frank M., Mary (Kostyun) Brownlie, and Peter. She was a beloved Grammy to Maren (aged 15), Liam (8), and Esther (6 months). She is survived by her sister Jerolyn Vickers and her brother John Maurin and is preceded in death by her niece Jamie. She was a wonderful mother-in-law to Johnny, Lisa, and Jessica. Dear Frank and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. She was a wonderful woman and a great neighbor. Fairview Place won’t be the same without here. Please take care and let all of us know if you need anything.
Sharon was a gem. a marvelous person and friend. I offer my condolences to her husband, Frank Kostyun and to their children.
It is difficult to find the words to adequately express my grief at her passing. She was an amazing friend, low key, and a sense of fun unique to her. She was truly a precious friend.
I’m fortunate to have known Sharon as a friend.
