KUBIS,

Walter “Wally” Patrick Kubis passed away August 8, 2016. He was born March 17, 1956 in Nassar County, Long Island, NY to Walter and Sylvia Kubis. He graduated from St. Theresa and Gerard High School and made All-State and All Conference “A” Division in 1972 and 1973 and was chosen lineman of the year in 1973. Wally was employed for 18 years at Phoenix AT&T Cable. He was a member of the Elks #2148, which he called his second home. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his sisters Jean Podborny (Kenneth) and Barbara Kitay (Charles). Visitation will be from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 22, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.

    Sending condolences to family and friends. I was 4 or 5 when Wally played football for my dad, Coach Relph. He is part of very fond memories and I never forgot him. Hugs and love to family and friends for your loss.

    Walter was a big part of the best High School years of my life. We all shared so many laughs and good times!
    He will be missed and greeted in Heaven with a warm Smile from our Joann. You will always be in our thoughts, prayers and the greatest High School memories of all time. We will never forget you. 🙂
