LADD, SHIRLEY BREWER
Shirley Brewer Ladd, 91 of Phoenix passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2018. Born on October 16, 1926 in Troy, New York. Her greatest joy was being a mother and raising her daughter Darryl. They traveled and cruised all over the world. Bermuda was her favorite spot. Several years ago they visited Israel and having made it to the promised land, she decided she could “retire” from travelling abroad. Her secret for making it 91 years was believing and trusting in Jesus Christ and staying active, which she did up until this last year. Shirley is survived by her loving daughter Darryl Ladd of Phoenix, AZ and brother Wallace of Troy, New York. Per Shirley’s request, a private ceremony was held at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery on July 19, 2018. Condolences may be expressed at www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com
Mrs. Ladd was like a mom to me. She was a beautiful person who took great pride in all she did. She traveled the world and was full of knowledge and a very wise person. I will miss you. Love and hugs to my best friend, Darryl.
Shirley was a treasure and still is in our hearts. She was both cute and beautiful in all ways. We are missing her dearly but look forward to the certainty of seeing her again.
Dear Godchild Darryl,
I am with you today in heart and soul, as you say your farewell to your mom, my Aunt Shirley. She was also my Godmother. I will remember all the wisdom and grace she brought to my life. She helped me get my first job as typist at WRGB Radio and TV station in Schenectady NY, where she worked as Executive Secretary. She is well remembered for her gracious advice and will be forever in my memory and prayers. I wish you the best memories of all you had together. May those memories hold you up in this time of sorrow with the ultimate joy of her presence in your life. Love and prayers from your Godmother Sheila
Dear Darryl,
My deepest condolences and prayers at this time of your moms passing. It’s wonderful to hear that your mom had a deep faith in Jesus Christ. By praying for comfort from God during this time I know he will help you with the mourning process.
Love, Danielle Martin Smith
Darryl, I am so very sorry about the passing of your mom. I will always remember her as one of the classiest ladies I’ve ever known. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do for you. Our lord has her under his wing now, and she’s flying with the angels. Your friens in Christ, Emma and Gary Gustafson.
Ahhh Darryl! I was sad to read about your mother passing, but what an awesome, energetic, magnetic woman! I loved that you two traveled together! I hope that these happy memories help you during your sorrow. When my mom passed, I remembered bringing her on a lot of my fun overnights! She and Shirley would have been great friends. I am thinking of you (and your two dollar bills!) and hoping you feel better soon. Lets fly together and trade mom stories! Your friend,
Lara Ketterman
Love and prayers to you for the great loss of your mom. Although I never met her I am sure that to have such a wonderful daughter she must have been very special!
I am praying that you will find comfort and joy in the memories you made with her.
Love, Rosellen
