I am so sorry. At her best she was so witty and funny. I enjoyed meeting with her at many OC events and my visits to your home, Ralph, to have her do my taxes. She was a great woman. I know you have many wonderful memories and she is now free of her struggles.

We are thankful that we were a part of Karen’s life. We will miss her vibrancy and her witty sense of humor. Ralph and Karen were like salt and pepper; different but complimenting each other. We liked that Karen wasn’t afraid to share her opinions on things and we could count on her giving us a direct and honest answer when questioned. We admired Karen on being herself as she never set out to impress others. What she valued wasn’t money or possessions but instead it was her family and her friends. We enjoyed sharing coffee in the mornings and a glass of wine in the evenings. We valued each other’s company. We are going to remember the joy that Karen brought to our lives. Our hearts reach out to all who loved her and will miss her, especially to Ralph.

I am so incredibly sad that Aunt Karen is no longer with us. I wish I had known her better, but I’m grateful for the memories that I have–in fact, she gave me my first “grown-up” apartment gift, silver candlestick holders, about 20 years ago. I still have them today, sitting proudly on the table in my studio apartment. They’re probably still the most grown-up item I own, and I think of Aunt Karen every time I look at them. I’m glad that she had Uncle Ralph by her side throughout her life. I hope she knew how much she is cherished and loved. xoxo – Becca
