LANGSTON, MARY ANN

September 23, 2010 Leave A Condolence

LANGSTON,

Mary Ann Langston passed away peacefully in her home on Friday September 17th at the age of 91. Mary was born in Philadelphia, PA. on July 30th, 1919 to Ellen Bridget (Dixon) and Louie Wherrell. Mary moved to Phoenix with her much loved late husband Jack (John) Langston in the mid 40’s. Mary is survived by her 4 children; Paul Langston, John Langston, Donna Langston and Tina Applewhite as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary especially loved her ‘adopted’ grandchildren Liam and Eve Miller who she would see while visiting her daughter Tina and much loved son-in-law Keith in Laguna Beach. For many years Mary was known as ‘Aunt Mary’ to everyone who loved her at her nephew David Lindsay’s night club ‘Yesterday’s’. Mary enjoyed the theater, dining out, shopping and laughing with friends and family especially her good friends Wendy Clay and Dorothy Germaine. Mary loved animals, having many cats and dogs during her life. Over the years she worked with several organizations who promoted the humane treatment of animals.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday September 23, 2010 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd. On Saturday, September 25 there will be a Funeral Mass held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road at 10:30 AM followed immediately by a graveside prayer at Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery.
