LEYVA, JOSE M.

February 12, 2016 Leave A Condolence

LEYVA,

87, beloved Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully with his daughter, Dolores Smales, and son, Ruben Valenzuela (Maria) by his side on February 9, 2016. Jose was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Laura Leyva. He is survived by his stepchildren, Rose Soto (Charlie), Jesus Valenzuela, Charlie Valenzuela (Dolores), Dolores Smales, Ruben Valenzuela (Maria), eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a sister, Hope Arreola, one nephew and one niece. Jose was born in 1929 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He was a hardworking man and committed to supporting his family. Jose was a generous man, always welcoming family and friends into his home. Widower of Laura Leyva, whom he loved with all his heart, shared over 50 years of marriage together. We will always cherish the memories of our “Tata” in a little house on Wolfe Road, Santa Clara, California. Rest in peace now Tata in the loving arms of God.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM, a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 PM and Funeral Mass taking place at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Brophy College Preparatory Chapel, located at 4701 North Central Avenue in Phoenix. Last Good-bye’s will be from 9:00-9:45 AM, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix .

Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery where Jose will be laid to rest.
