LORRAINE P. KAWULOK

August 12, 2009 Leave A Condolence

In Memorial

Lorraine Patricia Kawulok
was born in Ray, Arizona in 1921 to Frank and Verde Schiel. The youngest of three children, Lorraine grew up in Northern Arizona and enjoyed living in the country and her beloved dog Brownie. She spent her youth exploring Arizona and digging deep into the state’s history. Lorraine attended elementary and high school in Prescott, she graduated and moved to Tempe to continue her education at Arizona’s Teachers College, now Arizona State University. She met the love of her life Rudolph Phillip Kawulok and was married in 1942. Lieutenant and Mrs. Kawulok were transferred to Bear Field in Indiana. After the war they returned to Wickenburg, Arizona to raise their two sons, Phillip and Rodney and added two daughters Kay and Kimberly. Lorraine became the head of her family in 1968 after the death of her husband. Lorraine was a compassionate woman who loved family, teaching and helping her fellow man. She considered herself to be cut from Pioneer stock where hard work and family values are mandatory. Despite the adversity she faced she possessed positive soul that filled her life happiness and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by her family who were blessed to have shared her life. She is survived by her 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grand children. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 18, at 6:00 P.M., with a Funeral Service following at 7:00 P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phx. Interment will be Wednesday at 10:00 A.M., August 19 at Mountain View Cemetery located in Prescott, AZ.

So sorry to hear of the death of your mother. I think your father and I were in the air force together. I also believe I met your mother when they lived in orange calif. I believe your dad and I were on Okinawa together. This may be something that will tell us if this is the same lady and man. The “Rudy” I knew had driven a greyhound bus in Ariz. before the war.
