LOY, EUGENE WILLIAM (Ret. USAF Col.)

LOY,

Ret. USAF Colonel Eugene William Loy was born September 11, 1926 to Edward and Priscilla Loy in Cornville, AZ. He married Marion (Barbara) Johnston on September 4, 1950. Eugene graduated Arizona State University and was commissioned into the USAF to pursue his great love of flying. He is predeceased by siblings Ruth, Shirley and Richard. He leaves behind and will be greatly missed by his wife Barbara; sons, Ed (Jan), Gary, David and Bob, daughters, Cass Mielke and Cindy Steckel (Jim), along with grandchildren, Samuel Loy, Travis Michael, Alex Mielke and Warren, Jessica and Dylan Steckel, great-granddaughter Addison Mielke and his brother Robert. A Visitation will be from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, Friday, May 13, 2016 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. Mary’s Basilica, 231 N. 3rd Avenue, Phoenix. There will be a private burial at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Mary’s Food Bank, 2831 N. 31st Avenue, Phx., AZ 85009 and St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 13600, Phx., AZ 85002.
