
Deborah Nelson Lukas, age 67 of Fountain Hills, and formerly Scottsdale, passed away after a brief illness on March 11, 2021. Debbie was born January 28, 1954 in Alamogordo, New Mexico at Holloman Air Force Base to Vern and Diane Nelson of Olathe, KS.
Debbie grew up in Olathe, KS until she graduated in 1972 from Olathe High School. She married Tom Lukas June 26, 1982 and moved to Arizona two years later where they made their home for the next 37 years. Tom passed away December 15, 2019 after a brief illness. Tom was the love of her life and they loved attending Arizona Cardinals games and Diamondback baseball games together.
Debbie worked at Clark Hill Law Firm in Scottsdale as a Legal Administrative Assistant from 2009 until her death.
Debbie is survived by her parents, Vern & Diane Nelson, sisters Terri Nelson Olsen and Chrissy Nelson and brother Greg Nelson, along with many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Laurita Lukas.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial Donations can be made to either of Debbie’s favorite charities: St. Mary’s Food Bank, located at 3131 W Thomas Road in Phoenix, or the Diamondbacks Race Against Cancer.
