Aedeen Maafu passed away on the evening of April 19, 2020 from a pulmonary embolism. She is survived by her two sons, Paula and Veikune Maafu, sister, Avon Massad, brother, Jonathan Lacy, and mother, Ann Lacy. She was preceded in death by her father, Peter Lacey, and niece, Ashlei Massad.
Aedeen was best known for her loving heart. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. She was not only a mother to her own children but acted as a motherly figure to many other children in her community and family. She was always kind and welcoming to those she interacted with at work, school, and at home. She showed her love through her actions. She enjoyed cooking and often shared her famous trifle accompanied by many other dishes at family functions. Additionally, many remember her by her wittiness and sense of humor. She was an avid reader, and you could always find Aedeen’s nose in a book.
Aedeen spent her childhood in Ireland and later moved with her family to Arizona in 1986. She created a life in Arizona where she lived for 34 years. In December of 2016 Aedeen proudly became an U.S. citizen. She was well known for her strong work ethic and academic accomplishments. She began her schooling as a child in Wexford Ireland and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Business and Master of Arts in Organizational Management form the University of Phoenix. With her education she held the position of Senior Customer Experience Program Management Professional at Honeywell.

Dear Paula and Kune and family,
I worked with Aedeen at Honeywell (Infosys). She was the liaison between my group and Honeywell upper management so-to-speak. She really had our best interest at heart and I can’t tell you how supportive and helpful she was. She wanted to help everyone who need help in our group. When we heard of her passing, we were all lost for words and in shock. We just had a group meeting with her on Thursday before she passed. She will and is greatly missed by all my colleagues. Our sincere condolences to all of you who blessed to have known such a wonderful woman with a big heart.

The first time I met Aedeen was at a training session at my previous job. She talked about her son’s. She was a very proud mother. I later would have her as a trainer. She was excellent at her job and Im thankful for the time she took to help me learn new things. Rest in peace Aedeen. You will be missed. Lifting your family up in prayers.

Dear Anne, Johnathan, Avon, Paula and Veikune,
I met your precious Aedeen when my brother started dating your Aunt Avon. The thing I remember most about your daughter, sister, and MOM was that she was always smiling and loved to make us all laugh. She was always so welcoming and gave me a big hug. I just loved that about her. I pray that you will feel Heavenly comfort from above and that your wonderful memories of her will carry you through the difficult times of missing her. I know that you will all be together again some day. For now, Hold onto the promise from our Savior, Jesus Christ, that death does not separate us from our loved ones . They are only on the other side of the veil that will surely be lifted one day for a JOYOUS reunion. I know your Mom will be there with open arms to give you all that great BIG HUG just like always.

I’m so sorry to hear of Aedeen’s passing. I haven’t seen her since I retired from Honeywell but I have been friends on FB with her for some time. She was so sweet and funny and just loved talking about her sons. She had some funny stories that kept me in stitches. One in particular was about her crazy duck rescue in the parking lot that was just wrong. My prayers are with you.

Hello Family of Aedeen,
I had the great pleasure of being Aedeen’s boss for the last few months. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Aedeen. Her passion and dedication was greatly appreciated. She truly touched so many people within our Honeywell team as well as our partner, Infosys. She also played a key role within our Honeywell AOG team and made a big impact to many customers as well as people through her engagement. She will be missed and never forgotten.
I hope we can all smile as we think about Aedeen and be proud of the time we had with her.

My FONDEST memory of this AMAZING Women will always be her invitation to dinner EVERY Saturday night at her and Uncle PaulaLahi’s apartment when they used to live right behind Pierce Park. It was a time of mourning for my father, brothers and myself because my mom just passed away. She opened her home, cooked meals, and heart to us. I will FOREVER cherish that memory and many others!
Aedeen is gone from our sight, but not from our hearts. Whatsoever soothes your spirit, comforts your soul and Brings you Peace, that is what I pray for you brothers at this difficult time.
