Alice P. MaGee a long-time resident of Phoenix, AZ, died on August 7, 2021, at the age of 89. She was born in Rhinebeck, NY, on January 4, 1932. She lived in Red Hook, NY, for many years before moving to Arizona in December of 1977.
Alice is survived by her husband Neil G. MaGee; daughter Kristine Byrne (James) of Red Hook, NY; daughter Tricia Shearer (Morgan) of Hillsboro, OR; son Sean MaGee of Phoenix, AZ. Other survivors include granddaughter Jennifer Kopec (Ben) of Red Hook, NY; Bethany Lowe (Scott) of Pleasant Valley, NY; grandsons Morgan I Shearer (Roxy) of Glendale, AZ, and Bardeau Shearer of Phoenix, AZ; and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Leslie Duerr (Paul) of Dover Plains, New York.
Alice enjoyed baking, decorating and hosting. While her children were in elementary school she acted as “room mother” and provided many delightful treats for various parties and activities at the school. She continued her love for entertaining by planning large parties for friends and family after her children were grown. She was a fantastic hostess, cook and baker and “made the best chocolate chip cookies” in the world. Her avid collection of cow memorabilia was pretty impressive. She will be deeply missed by all her very near and dear friends, family and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to AZ Humane Society and/or Rhinebeck HS Alumni Assoc. PO Box 62 Rhinebeck, NY 12572

We are deeply sorry for your loss. Alice was a wonderful, caring and generous person. She was the greatest of Aunts. Even though she has left our world she leaves behind the many fond memories I have of her and her many fabulous treats. She was always as welcoming to me as my own mom. I enjoyed many visits through the years and always felt at home. She will be missed. God Bless you all.

I was deeply saddend when I heard the news of Aunt Alice’s passing. My deepest condolences to the rest of the family and her friends.
Many of my earliest childhood memories were of time spent at the park in red hook with Aunt Alice, Uncle Neil, Tricia, and Sean.
She was a sweet lady, and she did make the best chocolate chip cookies.
