MAINS, MARY DALE

March 17, 2017 Leave A Condolence

MAINS,

Mary Mains, age 84, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on March 14, 2017 after struggling with Alzheimer’s. Mary was born in Harlingen, Texas to Pola and A.P. Pena, and lived in California, Idaho, Colorado and Tripoli before settling in Phoenix in 1965.

A lifelong musician, she sang in choir at First Christian Church and played the piano, organ, guitar, and handbells. After holding many administrative positions, Mary began a second career as a jin shin jyutsu acupressure practitioner, studying with renowned teacher Mary Burmeister. In her 70’s, she was a youth group leader at Crossroads Methodist, guiding service projects in Arizona and Colorado.

Mary was known for her friendly, kind spirit, and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her children Ted (Linda) and Michelle, younger sisters Yolanda and Cory, 2 granddaughters, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Mary will be sorely missed. Services will be held privately.

I just discovered (11-19-2017) that Mary passed earlier this year. I never met her son, but I did meet her daughter before she moved to LA. I knew Mary as a jin shin jyutsu practitioner, and she was fantastic.
I am so sorry for your loss. She was a warm, gracious, and giving person. The world lost a wonderful person.
