82, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on March 14, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born in Sells, Arizona on April 9, 1930 and resided in Phoenix after serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. Richard retired from the Phoenix Indian Medical Center after 40+ years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Manuel and survived by his children Sue (Stan) Kurley, Rose (Richard) Carrillo, Mary Manuel, Richard Manuel, Jr. and Arlene Rubio, 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, brothers Norbert, Dennis and Michael Manuel; sisters Thelma Manuel and Nancy Garcia. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm, Wednesday, March 20 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Service will be at 11:30am, Thursday, March 21 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, with 1pm Interment at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix. A potluck reception will follow at the Central Presbyterian Church, 37 E. Indian School Road from 3-7pm.
