
Kell, Marilyn Rae Pinky
Marilyn “Pinky” Kell of Phoenix, Arizona passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2008. Marilyn was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on August 27, 1929 and lived in Iowa until she moved to Phoenix with her family in July of 1956. She spent most of the next 25 years working for the Arizona Republic/Phoenix Gazette in the personnel department. During that time she met Hubert “Tex” Daniels and married the love of her life. They spent 10 glorious and fun-filled years managing the Lazy R & G Ranch hosting many parties and press events and had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Marilyn eventually moved to Los Angeles where she worked at UCLA in the computer science department. She returned to Arizona in 1989 and remained here until her death. Her life was filled with many adventurous activities. She was actively involved in several clubs and social organizations that kept her busy. She volunteered her time for several charity organizations such as “The Smile Train” – Good Samaritan Hospital and was an active member in the Republican Woman’s Club. She is survived by her three daughters, Claudia Bullard and partner Karen Betty Peterson and husband Bob and Carla Stryker and husband Roy, one living sister – Jeanne Tranbarger from, California, seven grand-children, and their families, Mark Lindsey, Cindy Scolli, Stacy Barnes, Jamie Gavigan, Beth Stockton, Jennifer Lindsey, Justin Bullard, 15 great-grandchildren who loved to call her “Mamo” and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a woman of great character and strength with an enormous passion for life. She was our mom, best-friend and a wonderful Grandmother to all our children. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. She was a “True Matriarch of our family. A Memorial Celebration of her life will be on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at The Unity of Phoenix Church, 1500 E Greenway Pkwy, Phoenix, Arizona 85022 at 7pm.
