
Mary Cruz Aros, 95, Phoenix, was welcomed into heaven April 19, 2008. Born just after midnight January 1, 1913, in Florence, Arizona, she spent the next 95 years building a legacy of kindness, caring and faith. She will forever be remembered for her cooking, her love of dancing, her love of family and friends and the beauty in her soul. She was a parishioner at Immaculate Heart Church since 1935, where she was a longtime member of the Guadalupanas. Her service to her church, her faith in the face of adversity and pain and her dedication to the Blessed Mother will forever be examples of how to live life. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Florencio and Pauline Cruz, brothers Alejandro and Manuel Cruz, twin sister Margaret McGann, husband Paul Guzman Aros, daughter Mary Jane Leon and son Paul Alex Aros. She is survived by sister Bertha Castillo, daughters Genevieve Martinez, Virginia Rivera and Veronica Mullins, son Alfred Aros, 20 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Services will begin with Visitation at 9 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m., Thursday April 24, at Immaculate Heart Church, 909 E. Washington St. in Phoenix. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of the Valley, 340 E. Coronado Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85004.
