Fr. Richard Michael McGuire, O.S.C. was born on May 20, 1945, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to John and Edith May (Bower) McGuire,
died Sept. 30, 2015, Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 70. His profession of vows was August 28, 1966 in Hastings, Nebraska.
His date of priesthood ordination was May 12, 1973 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Fr. Rick moved to Arizona in 2004 and served as parochial vicar at St. Andrew the Apostle in Chandler since 2005. He was the youngest of six children and is survived by a sister Helen Joan Stone of Key Largo, Florida, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and his Crosier confreres and the parish community of St. Andrew. He is preceded in death by his brothers Frank and Br. Martin “John” McGuire, O.S.C. and sisters Mary Kay Quimby, Marjorie McGuire. Reception of the Body will take place immediately following the 5:30 PM Mass with the wake beginning at 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 3450 W. Ray Road, Chandler, AZ. Funeral Mass for Fr. Rick will be at 11:00 AM with a Morning Prayer and viewing of the Body at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 5, 2015 at St. Andrew Catholic Church. A luncheon will immediately follow the funeral liturgy. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Crosier Community of Phoenix, P.O. Box 32705, Phoenix, AZ 85064-2705.
