Danny was an avid sports fan and loved his Arizona sport teams, especially the Arizona Cardinals. He was a season ticket holder from day one and rarely missed a game. To honor Danny’s love of his favorite team, the family is asking those attending the memorial to wear Cardinal gear or the color red. Memorial service will be held on March 8, 2019 at 11:30 A.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 East Indian School Road, with visitation from 10:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gompers, 6601 N 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85017. To the family of Dan McNally,
My daughter Erica is blind and developmentally around one year old. She cannot speak so she is ignored by almost everyone except the Gompers staff…and Danny! He sat beside her in the van, holding her hand, talking to her, and generally looking out for her welfare. He once saved her from falling out of her wheelchair. Erica was only one of the people who received cards and little gifts from him every holiday. His thoughtfulness and generosity were beyond measure. That Danny chose her to be one of his special friends made me even prouder of my sweet girl.
He was a man who radiated such love and kindness that the world seems a darker, lonelier place without him. He has been an inspiration to all who knew him and undoubtedly a source of pride to the family that helped him to become such a lovely, loving man. He touched the lives of so many and will be sorely missed.
With gratitude and affection,
Mary Robert
Eileen, Maureen, and family…. I am truly heartbroken to hear of Danny’s passing. He had a smile and sense of humor that could liven up anyone’s day! I loved talking about the Cardinals and what happened to our team this year! Danny is with the good lord now free and at peace! God bless you all and he will forever be in our hearts!
It was great sadness that I heard of Danny’s passing. He was a great guy that you could depend on to help and do anything. Lots of fond memories of going to the football games with him. My prayers and concerns to all of the McNally family during this difficult time.
