93, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend of many, died peacefully in her sleep on February 25th, 2015. Emma was born August 13th, 1921 in Tempe, AZ, the younger of two daughters, to Simon and Refugia Romero. Emma is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Adolfo B. Medina, sister Frances Medina, granddaughter Natasha and great-grandson Christopher. Emma is survived by her daughters Armida, Terri (Richard) Jenny (Joe), Olivia and son Adolfo Jr., 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great, great-grandchildren. Emma always stressed family unity. She possessed a great sense of humor and feistiness in her daily life. Emma enjoyed sewing, reading her prayers and spending quality time with her family. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 909 S. 1st Avenue, Phoenix. Interment will follow at East Resthaven Park Cemetery, 4310 E. Southern Avenue, Phoenix. A special thanks to Hospice Family Care Center for the loving care and attention they provided Emma.
